Anyone interested in pursuing a career as a nurse liaison must meet the following requirements:

  • Licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing recommended
  • Experience in a particular nursing setting may be important to some employers.

Job Description
A nurse liaison cultivates the relationship between the patients and the facilities providing their care. They determine the patients eligibility for care and pass that information to the family members and relevant staff members.

Job Duties
  • Review patients medical records to determine whether patient should be admitted into facility.
  • Inform the patient of the types of care the facility offers.
  • Schedules appointments for patient.
  • Organize patient discharge for a smooth transition.
