The nursing profession is one of the toughest to endure. It takes so much more than knowledge and skill to tackle the everyday obstacles that nurses encounter. Obstinate patients, long hours, and the nursing shortage are just a few of the daily challenges to overcome. But nurses are passionate about what they do. They love their patients even when they do and say things that might cause the average person to retaliate. Although nurses take their work very seriously they also recognize that if they are going to make it they need to have a sense of humor. Nurse memes have been criticized by some for being too callous and demeaning towards patients. While there may some truth to that perception, there is also truth in the fact that some patients are wrong in the way they treat nurses.
